Fireflies & extended stay

We went back to Oak Mountain state park in search of some more fireflies.

Not only did we find a whole bunch we also got to witness this beautiful sunset and sky.

This was home "sweet" home for the first month we lived in Alabama. We chose it because they allowed pets and because they had a decent weekly rate. It was nothing to brag about. No breakfast, no lobby, no exercise room and saddest of all, no pool.

The hallways and elevator smelled really bad too. We never go over that. We bought a lot of air fresheners and tried but nothing helped.

It had a tiny kitchen so we could prepare some food which was nice. No stove, but I had purchased an Instant Pot a month prior so we got it out and started to experiment with it.

No couch or closet either. Strange. But oh well.

While Lewis slept all day we found activities to keep us occupied.

We mostly cooked our own food but we ate out a few times.

Oreo's and Monopoly Deal became a nightly ritual.

We finally got word that our car had arrived in Atlanta so we hopped in the truck and made the 3 hours trek to go and pick it up.

We ran into a nasty storm on the way home.

Ol' blue has been a lot of places with us. He is one of the family and it was good to see him again.

Meanwhile, Lewis slept and slept some more. That is what he does best.
