Johne had never used a blow dryer before, I think this was his favorite part of making his Pinewood Derby car. Just kidding. He cut the car out at scouts, I helped him paint and Tyson figured out the weights and the wheels. It turned out pretty fun!
Here is the finished car! Ta da!
We used copper pipes for the fries, hot glued them on and painted them with yellow acrylic paint.
We used my old scrapbook stickers to put on his favorite number (his house number from his village).
I helped Tandy & Joyce decorate the cultural hall. None of it was my idea but I was happy to use my height to hang everything up. It turned out super fun! The road was made with black table clothes and colored Duct tape. I need to remember that one. So creative!
Johne's car needed a little bit more weight in the front. It had a slow start but it did speed up as it got going. His car raced 4 times and won once. He went home with the award for Best Design and he was pretty excited about that....and the Doritos. Lets face it, he's 10...all he really cares about sometimes are the Doritos.
