March This N That

After we got home from Japan I had booked appointments of all sorts of us and it was stressful, I don't know why I do that myself sometimes. But anyways....after one of Johne's dentist appointments I took him to the drive thru and ordered him the Spam, Rice & Egg breakfast platter. You read that correctly. McDonalds has sinced closed down....I guess we didn't order enough spam to keep it open. ;)

Dinner with the Elders. Our Canadian Elder from Calgary, Elder Stripling finally came back after getting a sickness from serving on Chuuk. He thinks I need to learn Chuukese since J is living in our home and he has willingly offered to get me some language learning material.

Lydia was so sweet to bring me breakfast in bed one morning. I do love Honey Nut Cheerios.

I should have bought some crazy socks while we were in Japan. We saw crazy socks everywhere. This is the craziest I could find the day before on base. Nike socks in the boy section did the trick.

Lewis is so dilligent at getting in his 22 hours of sleep each day.

Once in a while I get creative for Primary singing time. If you ever get this calling make sure to find the FB group. It has over 12,000 members world wide and these ladies share ideas like this everyday all day long. I usually scroll through the page once every two weeks to find new ideas and I have shared a few of my own original ones as well.

I taught J and Lydia how to play Skip Bo. I don't mind spending money on games on special occasions. I love that they use our game closet all the time with each other and when friends come to play.

Mason, Kate, Sophie, Lydia & Johne at the park.

Notes were written and passed between Johne and Yme during church one Sunday.

I was so relieved she circled yes. My heart may have broken in two.

Lydia has the sweetest primary teacher. His name is Brother Nelson and he is Elderly and so great.

Johne and his friends were acting out Samuel the Lamanite during sharing time.

These little rascals came to play one day before I drove them to Activity days.

We had a solar eclipse scheduled. I was inside the house making crepes and I totally forgot to outside to check it out when my phone started going off like crazy. All of my friends were out looking at it and I burned a few crepes and went out to see it too. Tandy gets the credit for this shot. Isn't it awesome! I was a little blind for a while after staring at the sun....even with sun glasses and then I continued to burn a few more crepes. ;)

Sister Baum....our only American loved them. The other two thought crepes were a funny dinner dish. I made dinner crepes with eggs, cheese and meat.

The Garcia's hosted a fire out on their drive way. These are my favorite kind of nights for a few reasons.

Reason number one I get to relax and talk to my friends all night, two the kids get to run around and play outside and three Tyson got play sports with the other men. We all had a blast.

We ate some Smores too. You can never go wrong with Smores.

We celebrated St. Patricks day with GREEN scrambled eggs and cinnamon toast. Lydia enjoyed every bite because she loves scrambled eggs. The other kids, Johne and Gracie politely declined and ate Lucky Charms instead.

Aren't these Sushi and Ninja erasers from Japan the cutest!? Almost too cute to use.

We said farewell to Sister Baum who served here for 9 months in our ward. We are going to miss her like crazy but she is coming back in June to visit.

My dearest friend Lisa teaches Piano and she invited us to her piano recital. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting through an hour of music played by these talented children. Lydia asked me during the first number if she could take piano. She didn't move a muscle the whole recital.

Every child did SO well!

I had some things to drop off at Ermina's house....but Ermina sadly wasn't home. This slew of kids were though so we got out and played with them for a while.

Savelyn used an old soccer ball that was flat and a grocery sack to create a make shift tether ball. I thought it was a genius idea. The kids have literally no toys or money to buy toys and they have just as much or more fun than anyone.

Johne could play tether ball for hours at a time. Lydia is getting pretty good at it too!

The little ones asked me to come and watch them slide down the hill. They used an old tarp and a mattress pads and got pretty dirty in the process. I think it would be fun to take them all sledding on snow. I know for certain that they would freeze to death but it would sure be neat to watch them experience it for the first time.
