C17

Our adventure to Japan started out quite memorable, we packed up the car and at 11 p.m. we drove up to Anderson Air force base and spent the night sleeping in the car. We surprisingly all slept really well with the windows rolled down and a nice breeze came through all night. We woke up early and checked to see if they still had a flight to Japan planned.

The Mac Flight was going to South Korea first and then to Japan, it was going to be quite a detour but we still decided to take it. We didn't have any lines or crowds of people to maneuver around, it was just us and one other man who works at hospital too.

We checked our bags and then boarded the plane. This girl was excited to leave the island for the first time since we moved to Guam....we all were!

It was noisy so we all wore earplugs.

We sat sideways on the inner walls of the plane. The seats weren't terribly comfortable but they weren't too bad either, we didn't complain because they were free and check out all that leg room. ;)

Our luggage didn't get lost. It was loaded and strapped down right there in front of us.

After take off we were able to wander around and check things out.

Then after we ate our boxed lunch we all took a nap on the floor....it was fabulous. I've always wanted to lay down in a plane and it made the trip go by so quickly for Lydia.

Lydia had a rough go with motion sickness during both of the landings but she was still our little champ traveler. It was dark when we made it to our hotel on Yokota Air Force base and SO cold but we were ready for our adventure to continue....it was off to a great start. We absolutely loved traveling on this military plane, this definitely won't be our last time.
