Talafofo Group

Our Ward boundaries includes many different villages and to name a few they are Santa Rita, Agat, Asan, Piti, Yona, Merizo, Hummatak, and Talofofo. Our Bishop has this vision and goal to bring the gospel to individual villages to make the sacrament more accessible to the members each week. And to help the gospel to grow in these areas.

He started a small group in Talofofo and each week he assigns a family to attend so we can add to their meetings. On the first Sunday in January it was our turn and it was our pleasure to attend church with this group of members

We picked up Ermina, her husband Slave and daughters and I drove them in  my vehicle. Tyson drove the kids and Brother Willie, a member of our Bishopric.

It was such a special meeting. I love attending church outside in nature, I could hear roosters crowing, the wind blowing through the trees and boonie dogs gallivanting about. But the best part was the spirit that was felt. Taking the sacrament is a different experience when you are with a handful of people instead of a huge congregation. Our testimony meeting was also very intimate and special.

Lydia's favorite thing was that it only lasted 30 minutes. Ha ha. Johne and Lydia didn't realize that we were driving right back to our building to attend the last 2 blocks of our meeting. Ha ha.

But my all time favorite thing about these meetings is how they have a way of making the gospel so simple. It doesn't have to be complicated and here out in the jungle somehow it isn't and I am grateful for that.
