Train & Showa Kinen Park

We woke up and explored the base for a little bit, did some shopping rented a hot spot and then we made out way to the train station and did some exploring.

It was super complicated to figure out and nothing is in English but we did it.

I think we decided about 1 in every 10 people wore these white masks on their faces.

It messed with our brains seeing the cars drive on the opposite side of the road.

I loved seeing all the shops and restaurants everywhere.

We made our way to Showa Kinen park with an hour to spare until it closed. It was a beautiful place. I think we were one month too early so we just had to use our imaginations and imagine what it would look like with all those trees in bloom.

We had loads of fun on this bouncy contraption.

We spotted our first Japanese toilet. Aren't they fun?! The baby seat thing I got on board with....I never knew what to do with Lydia when she was a baby. Genius.

Lydia tried the toilet.

We found a few trees in bloom and they were stunning.

Cherry blossoms.

What kid doesn't love a pay phone?

We loaded up on a few never before tried treats. The different flavored Kit Kats were my favorite, we also liked the Milk ball candies and Cookies and Cream sticks. Mmm!

We wandered through a big box store similar to a Wal-Mart except it had 6 or more floors. We bought hats and gloves to keep us warm for the rest of the trip and started looking for the perfect souvenir for Johne. Lydia was sure this dog was it.

We bought some donuts on our way back our hotel....they were delicious!

Lydia got busy sending postcards to her cousins and Johne.

She was a huge fan of her hide-a-bed. We made sure we all got a good night sleep and the next morning we were off to Tokyo.
