Alabama is a different breed, or so I found out. We were invited to a tailgating party at some new peoples home (The Holts) and it turned out to be a super fun group of people. I decided to make Potato Salad and boy did these new friends go crazy over it. Everyone wanted to know who made it , people went back for 2nds and thirds and it even got us an invite to a Thanksgiving dinner. I'll share the recipe if you want it....just ask. It's in a Mormon cookbook I have in my cupboard. I can snap a picture of it for you.
After the tailgating we walked over to the high school and watched the home coming game. We froze. I forget the temperature now but we didn't last the entire game. We left at the end of the 3rd. We still had a lot of fun though. We ended up sitting with the Bennett family.
Our new neighborhood has a pool. We only went once before it closed for the season and the water was freezing. Guam ruined me, I tell you. It was cold for Lydia too, but she eventually made it all the way in and under. We played fetch with her new pool rockets. I bet next summer it will be nice and refreshing.
General Conference was a lovely weekend. We loved being able to enjoy it with the rest of the United States instead of a week later. Mom texted and wanted to see how we were all watching it. We are creatures of habit. Lydia was working on her board.
Lewis was contemplating the purpose of life.
A few games of Bingo went down.
And Tyson puzzle-ling it up in the kitchen.
Near the end Lydia ended up like this. Who knows?
This was the session where Elder Hales passed away in between Sunday sessions. And it was the first session I recall in my lifetime where our prophet wasn't able to attend. (President Monson) He was missed.
On Sunday afternoons when there are no construction workers in sight we enjoy inspecting all the new homes being built. We were the first home built on our street and now they are popping up like crazy.
This is the view directly across from us.
This is looking left after walking outside our home.
We liked the layouts of a few of them and others not so much. We are pretty pleased with our home.
Our walks usually end up at the park where we toss the Frisbee or swing at the playground. Tonight was another beautiful sky.
