Its tradition to touch the Cariboa before you leave the Guam airport. Ok....it really isn't, but it is now and we did it and will do it again. Does that make it a tradition?
Lydia and I hopped on our first plane from Guam to Tokyo. Tyson got us good window seats on every flight.
We were sure excited to leave our little island and go to the states to see our family!
Japan looked lovely and green as we flew in.
We made it to Tokyo and on the plane they announced that our flight to San Francisco had been canceled. Ugh! I was not thrilled. We found out where to go and then stood in a LONG line to book a new flight for the next day and to vouchers for a hotel and meals.
I started to not feel well, I got really dizzy, I felt like I was going to pass out. I sat down and then the lady behind me noticed that I was really white. She called for someone to bring me some water and they came with water and a wheelchair. I felt foolish, I don't like attention like that but boy did I need it. They took care of me and got me out of that airport in about an hour onto the right bus to our hotel.
I finally got to talk to Tyson. I sure do not love flying without him. I wasn't nervous to be in Tokyo but I was a little uneasy about how things work when your flight gets canceled. It was just a nuisance especially when you are with a child but there is nothing you can do about it.
We made the best of it and enjoyed out meals, had a good sleep and waiting until 2 pm the next day to catch our flight.
The Tokyo airport is HUGE and pretty entertaining. I was so calm and at ease on this day.
Why did this guy look familiar??? I don't know. But he did. Did I have one as a child?
Our 10 hour flight wasn't too bad. We got up to stretch a lot, read books, watched a movie, colored, visited with a super chatty fellow.....it wasn't bad. Neither of us slept very much.
San Francisco to Salt Lake was a breeze and check out ALL this leg room. Lydia slept the entire flight and it was a doozy trying to wake her up to get off the plane.
We couldn't believe we were actually there! It was long two days of traveling but seeing Mom and Courtney at the airport made it all worth it.
This is what we did when we got to Utah. SLEEP. It took me a few days to get back on Utah time but boy were we sure glad to be there!
