We thought we'd surprise Johne and take him out of school on the afternoon we decided to go down South, we knew he'd want to come and show Ali his village. When we got to the school around 1 p.m. they were having a fire drill, it was not the most convenient time to find your child to check them out. But I found him, talked to the office and we loaded him up. He was not pleased in the least. Ooops. But he quickly forgave us. We promised to never make him miss school again. ;)
Our first stop was to the look out. It was raining off and on while we drove and very overcast so you can't even tell in the pictures that we have an amazing view behind us. But we do!
Gracie and Johne. Both 10 years old.
Johne quickly learned how fun his Aunt Ali is and he adored her the entire trip. He always requested to sit by her in the car, for her to tuck him in at night....and they played many games of Trouble.
We took our visitors to another lookout in Humatac.
Then after exploring Merizo for a bit we headed as far south as we could go and parked it at Inarajan to swim.
Check out our awesome platform diving board!
The water was nice and warm and we swam for quite a while. It was heavenly. Lydia ended up with some weird issues....something stung her fingers in the shallow wading waters and then when she got out to dry off her feet were attacked by some red Ants. Poor girl. Our lovely day didn't end too well for her, but she was tough and the swelling and itching finally subsided.
Johne is learning to love the water. Every time we go to the ocean or pool he says he does not want to swim and then when I put him in and he always has fun and then never wants to get out. Why is that with some kids? Ha ha.
