We started the day off with breakfast delivered to our room. Breakfast is our favorite meal of the day. We loved the food on the ship---the crepes, waffles and omelettes were our top choices.
We had quite the intense experience choosing a taxi driver this morning. Tyson was getting bombarded by about 10 men all at once. They all wanted our business. One man more than the rest, and he was super obnoxious and overly persistent. It actually ended up with him and in fact he was trying to protect us from the other men, we heard the word Mafia mingled in there. He actually turned out to be a great guy and he took good care of us for the day.
We stopped at a Marble shop before we went to the Marble mountain. It was so fascinating to see everything they have created from this marble.
Here we are at the mountain. We paid and went exploring and climbing up to the top. I think we only saw a fraction of this place.
This group of tourist were taking our picture, so I snapped one of them from up above.
Our next stop was Old Hanoi---a popular place to visit filled with homes, temples, shops, more shops, entertainment and more. This was one of my favorite places on the trip, not only was the place so colorful but the shopping was fabulous too.
This sweet girl insisted we try on her hat and carry her fruit and of course wanted to see us some too.
Very true. Nobody follows any sort of traffic rules here. Craaaaazy.
Tyson thought these bamboo bikes were super cool.
This place is famous for their beautiful lanterns and I've seen picture of them all lit up at night. It looks fabulous.
We visited this Silk worm art shop. These girls come here at age 18 to learn this craft. It is incredible.....they take a photography and use the silk to recreate it into art. They look just like the photographs
We went upstairs to see the worm process from beginning to end.
Lydia helped a little bit too.
Next stop: Na Trang, Vietnam
