Marine spent her last night with us in Norman. We decided to go for a drive to find some tornado damage. We saw lots of broken down fences, blue tarps on roofs, power lines still being worked on and THIS huge tree split in half. Crazy!

Then we ended up at Lake Thunderbird. 20 miles West of us. It reminds me of Pineview a bit. Back at home we watched a movie, visited and the next morning I drove her to the airport. Glad to report she made it home safely to her family, friends and boyfriend. :) I will miss her that is for sure!

We hung out on the dock, saw some kids catch a fish and watched a beautiful sunset!

Someone wanted to drive us home. Ha ha...I don't think so girly!

"When we're Helping were Happy...."

Daddy was FAST asleep...on Lydia's new chair. $1 Dollar garage sale find...
or in Tyson's case: aka his new pillow. :)

I once again heard some more 'silence' and this is what I found.
"Not really the safest place to kick back and have a drink Lydia!"

She was obviously proud. Silly girl!
Here are a few shots from Mother's Day.
Tyson made Mother's Day so special for me this year. Lydia did too, she decided to sleep in until 9:30 a.m. That was Heavenly. Then Tyson got her all ready for church and when we came home he made me the most delicious dinner. Turkey, asparagus, roasted potatoes and Oreo pie. Mmmm! Lydia made me a beautiful card with her cute footprint and Tyson wrote me a love note and got me gift card to my new favorite store. That evening we went for a Sunday night drive and played at the playground with Lydia. Such a great day!
Happy Mothers Day to me!
Thanks Tyson & Lydia. I love you!

FREE admission day at the local Museum.
We invited Daddy to come along with us. He had never been.
It is always more fun with Dad!
She was lifting her leg like the mammoth. :)

Dad was making cat noises every time she'd pet it....scary!

We saw this feathered creature on our walk home. It was fascinating to watch. Tyson thought maybe it was a road runner so after observing it he decided to chase it, see if it would run or fly?

The Walser's & Catherine's went out on a date night and I opted to baby-sit ALL 4 of our kids (under the age of 2). You'd think my husband would have stayed to help me....no, he decided it was the perfect time to go pick up that car part at Auto Zone. :) But it was all good.... I did it. I wore them all out...we danced, played, watched some Elmo, ate snacks, played some more, read books, said prayers and ALL of them went right to sleep!

Lydia's face was beaming all night. She loves having friends over and once she realized they were sleeping over she was even happier!

This was on a different day. I wouldn't dare take 4 under the age of 2 to the playground all by myself.
Lydia's been watching me take care of Baby Destry for the last few weeks and is now going through a baby doll phase. She has 3 now, one from Aunt Heather, one from Grandma

FYI: My talented Mother-in-law made Lydia's beautiful rag quilt. I helped pick out the fabric and she was finished within a week. Lydia will treasure it always!

Mommy, "Lydia where is your esophagus?....." Ha ha. There is it! She knows a few other organs too.

My little book worm.

Sarah invited us to come over for a pool 'party' play date. Lydia and Malachi had lots of fun in the Froggy. She boiled water on the stove just like Grandma Selman used to do in Canada when the sun wasn't warm enough to heat the water.

I don't have to tell you that they had lots of fun.

This was at our Ward Elders Quorum barbecue. She played bubbles, drew on sidewalks, played at the park....she was in heaven!

My girl has no fear and so much determination!
Daddy was behind her just in case....but she did it all by herself.

I took this picture during Tornado sirens scare number 2. It was starting to hail so we went outside quick to check it out.

I think she could tell Mum was getting a little nervous....so we ran back in!

I love the picture of Lydia in the drawer. :) Such a true kid, with no fear! Where do you keep your camera so you can grab it fast in such instances? :)
That picture of the tree split in half by the tornado is amazing...that thing is HUGE!! And those sunset pics are beautiful. Lydia is hilarious and getting so big. She does have a mischevious smile in that pic of her in the drawers...so cute! Mother's Day sounded like it was great for you...you deserve it.
Lydia sounds like such a smart girl!!
Love the rag quilt!
